New Lens!

I am very excited to be the proud new owner of a 50mm 1.4 Sigma lens! I was lucky enough to find a seller on Kijiji who no longer had use for this lens and sold it to me for an amazing price. On Saturday Dan and I were invited to our brother and sister in law's house for dinner, the Lepines were also there visiting. I was able to capture some great shots of Norah at the window with the light flooding in. She looked like a little angel and I was very happy to try out the new lens on such a cutie! Here are a few shots from Saturday, so happy with that lens!

Family Shoot, the Lepines

I have known Ryan and Kelly for a few years now and have had the pleasure of watching their two girls Norah and Sadie grow into up into the cute toddlers they are today. On Sunday I met up with the Lepine family at their house and we took a walk outside at a local park, a bit of a nippy day but the girls were bundled up and ready for their photo shoot! The lighting was just right and it was certainly easy to get some great shots of this good looking family. I had so much fun photographing everyone, and am so excited to share some photos. Thanks Kelly, Ryan, Norah and Sadie for a great day!

Winter Engagement, Ryan and Daniela

On a mild Saturday in January I had the privilege of doing some engagement photos for good friends of Dan and I's, Ryan and Daniela. Ryan and Daniela have recently moved from BC and are getting married in May in Mexico. We decided to meet at the Experimental Farm, and luckily the weather was mild. Ryan and Daniela were both troopers as we trekked through the snow and toured the grounds of the Farm. They are a very photogenic couple and it was easy to capture the love they have for each other. I am so very excited to share these photos on my blog! Thanks Ryan and Daniela for being such awesome subjects!

In the Market

Today I was downtown right before sunset and I had my camera. I decided to talk a walk down sussex to take a few pictures of parliament and surrounding area. As the the sun was setting I was able to use the light to my advantage and get some really cool shots of downtown Ottawa. It definitely was getting a little brisk outside as there was no more warmth from the sun, so I didn't last very long! I am happy with the outcome with the photos and was able to shoot entirely in Manual setting, which is getting easier and easier with practice! Hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did taking them!
