This past week I was in BC visiting the W family in North Vancouver. The rain certainly dominated the forecast, but I did not let this stop me from taking advantage of the beautiful BC scenery and snapping (several hundred) pictures of my sweet nephew Jackson, my sister Emily and her huband Scott. I was so lucky to be able to get a variety of locations to take photos which added so much vibrance and texture, despite the persistent rain threatening to move us inside! We simply brought our umbrellas, and wore our rain boots everywhere! Take that rain! Jackson is not shy in front of the camera, and he is quite the comic. It was often me who was laughing behind the camera at his funny faces and silly demeanor. I already miss my little buddy, and am looking forward to our next visit. The W's are a warm, loving family who loves to laugh. It was an absolute pleasure to be able to take their photographs! Can't wait for the next photo shoot!
A little collage from my Family session with the Whitemarsh family! More to come....
One of the best parts about being a photographer is the opportunity to network with other artists in Ottawa. I recently purchased some hand knit hats and headbands for my upcoming newborn sessions from my friend Nat Vellenga. Nat is the owner of
Peanutnbean
and she is the creator of these cute baby and toddler apparel. Take a look at some of my recent purchases and I urge you to check her her site on Etsy to purchase some yourself!

This past Saturday I was invited by my friend Meaghan of
The Handmade Bride
to Ottawa's Indie Wedding Show,
Wed by Hand
. It was held at the Glebe Community Center, and it was buzzing with recently engaged brides searching for alternate, eco friendly vendors for all things wedding. The center was packed and there were so many different vendors offering neat alternatives for décor, favours, food & even wedding dresses. I had a lot of fun touring the different booths and photographing artist's work. Here are some of the photos from the day!

On Saturday I was invited by Anna Jones Photography to assist the wedding of Chanel and James. Chanel and James with their three beautiful children, Mia, Lola & Jimmy had a picture perfect winter wedding at Divine Infant church in Orleans, followed by a stunning reception at Sala San Marco. Their bridal party was brimming with happiness and it wasn't difficult to capture the warmth, love and support they had for their friends. Chanel and James were surrounded by family and friends as they sealed their vows with a kiss and headed for a night of glamour and pink champagne! The room was decorated to the nines with crystals, pearls, pink roses and an abundance of food. I could not be happier for this couple and I am very thankful to have been part of their special day. Thanks again to Anna Jones for inviting me along!
